Stephen Heffernan
I'm passionate about transforming the way we go about implementing change initiatives. Rather than merely reaching a narrowly defined end-state, they present a unique opportunity to generate awareness, engagement and commitment towards unprecedented, sustainable business results.
Biography
Stephen brings over 20 years of corporate consulting experience
in organizational performance, learning and change. He has
specialized in leading executive and management-level teams
through planning and implementing large-scale change and
performance improvement initiatives, such as: global
implementation of enterprise-wide information systems;
organizational transformation and process improvement; and,
building e-learning, knowledge management and integrated
performance support infrastructures. He recently served five years
as a principal at Dublin Group, a San Francisco management
consulting firm, where he was the primary solutions architect for the
firm's largest engagements and a leader in practice and methodology development. Since then, his work has focused on post-implementation and strategic integration issues, as well as designing and delivering customized programs, structured team meetings and coaching for implementation planning and change leadership.
He has extensive international experience supporting
information and communications technology deployment,
enterprise leadership and human resource development – principally
through applying a systems approach to the
performance effectiveness of organizations. His authority comes
from an insatiable self-education directly related to his evolving
consulting practice. In 1987 he founded the Institute for Systems
Literacy's with the purpose of formalizing his research and its
application to specific education, organization and leadership
development projects in the developing world As a Peace Corps
volunteer after college he gained a deep appreciation for other
nations and cultures. In the mid-8O's, with the knowledge and
expertise acquired through professional experience at home, he
returned to offering service to third-world governments and
NGOs, supporting their efforts for sustainable development and
self-determination, a commitment he continues to this day.
In his spare time he can be found hiking in the mountains of
northern New Mexico, or printing his gallery-exhibited
photography.
