Ellen Hart
The journey of leadership is one of awareness, insight and
action. So is the journey of life. I feel blessed to be able to
help leaders lead by enhancing their awareness and insight, as well
as their capacity for action.
Biography
With over 25 years of management consulting experience, Ellen
has worked with executive groups to develop strategies for the
future and achieve the alignment necessary for implementation. Her
main areas of expertise include leadership alignment, organization
design, transformation management, strategy development, and
mergers and acquisitions.
She has led transformation design programs for executive
leadership teams to drive organization-wide change in industries
including financial services, chemicals, life sciences,
telecommunications, oil and gas, automotive, and consumer products.
Her work has touched more than 150 companies worldwide (US, Canada,
U.K., France, Switzerland, Denmark, South Africa.)
Ellen holds a BA Degree in English Literature from Fordham
University, a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from New York
University, and a Ph.D. In Cognitive Psychology from the Institute
for Cognitive Studies of Rutgers University.
Clients describe Ellen insightful, responsive and creative in
her approach to working with executive teams. She is valued for her
ability to design processes for tackling complex issues. Clients
particularly value her candor, ability to listen and understand,
and her practical advice in coaching sessions.
In her earlier career she was a college administrator and
faculty member, a marketing manager in a PC start up, and a house
parent for abused children. Since her days as a faculty member,
Ellen has continued teaching and speaking at conferences as well
conducting workshops for multiple client events. The topics have
included mergers & acquisitions, growth, the challenges of
leadership, effective change and transformation, team
effectiveness, decision-making, coaching and organization design.
Ellen has published many articles on leadership and change and been
quoted in publications, including FORTUNE, Across the Board, The
Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, and Management
Review. She was formerly on the editorial board of Transformation
magazine. She wrote “Strategic Change; Reconfiguring Operational
Processes to Implement Strategy,” a chapter in The Portable MBA in
Strategy (John Wiley and Sons, 2001).
