Carlos Acevedo I am committed to working with people so that their unique, innate leadership can be realized and put into action … so their true being can express itself and make the difference that we all cherish and desire. Biography Carlos is devoted to having companies realize tangible results by intervening in where people stand and how work gets done. He has recently completed a major project in Chile, working with an international mining company. The project focused on aligning corporate culture, fulfilling strategy, and enhancing operating performance and service quality from recently formed Central Services departments. He has worked extensively throughout Latin America in varied industries and functions. In Panama, he led a culture change and organizational redesign intervention with the Panama Canal Commission, supporting the transition from a US Government bureaucracy to a profit-making enterprise. He facilitated the creation of a learning organization and utilized process improvement methodology to have change occur throughout the various divisions. He used one-on-one coaching extensively to impact people's behavior and support them in internalizing new skills and ways of interacting. As Director of Corporate Quality (1990-1992) for an electronic component supplier, Carlos designed and implemented a Total Quality program, integrating the quality function across three countries. His fourteen years with Digital Equipment Corp. (1977-1990) included creation and management of quality improvement teams, as well as significant group facilitation. Carlos used his skills to successfully manage a major product introduction across seven manufacturing sites in four countries. Carlos' unique skills come in part from his developmental path. As an engineer from MIT, he learned and applied highly technical skills. Once he began his personal development in human transformation, his whole life took a turn towards the powerful yet unseen world within, and people's ability to move beyond what they thought was possible. His 17 years as a manager gave him a direct dose of the “reality” in which many managers live. His 15 years as an organizational consultant have brought him into such diverse fields as Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Banking, Electronics, Insurance, Hospitals, Professional Services and Government. Carlos lives in Puerto Rico with his wife Deborah and their three children. He is committed to people living in dignity and harmony while bringing their best selves forward. |
